Software for Pilots
To connect to the VATSIM network pilots need one of the Flight Simulators ( "Microsoft Flugsimulator" or "X-Plane"), and some additional software. The following applications are available:
MS FlightSimulator (2002/2004/X):
- SquawkBox (www.squawkbox.ca)
- FSInn (www.mcdu.com)
X-Plane (Version 7/8/9):
- XSquawkBox (www.xsquawkbox.net)
Additionally to these so called "pilot clients" we recommend some additional software that can be useful:
| Programm | Beschreibung | |
| DLMN | This tool shows you the actual status of online pilots and controllers on the VATSIM network. It is continously maintained and has many features. |

| QuteScoop | A Port of DLMN for OSX and Linux. |

| ServInfo | This is the "father" of DLMN. Unfortunately this tool is not maintained any more, so that many FIR borders do not match the current situation. Because of that you can download a fixed datafile here. This tool is currently the only tool to show data from VATBook (except vRoute) in a simple way. Therefore it is used by many people, even with the outdated data. | Link |
| VATSpy | VATSpy is a new version of ServInfo. It has a nicer frontend, but does not offer the possibility to show VATBook entries. | Link |
| vRoute | vRoute is also a tool for showing the online status on the VATSIM network. In addition to that is has the ability to show VATBook data. There is also a payware version of this tool, which offers some more features like fuel planning for some aircraft and more. | Link |
| Teamspeak | Teamspeak is our software to communicate to each other in our sparetime (like Skype) or to coordinate each position with others during online sessions. To enter our Teamspeak server please have a look at our frequently asked questions. | Link |
| Screenpusher | To use our PushTV you have to install this little freeware tool. Thanks Alex Wemmer for providing this Version 1.4 for VACC Austria. | Link |
| Chartviewer | Developed by one of our members this tool helps you to organize your charts. | Link |
